Warm Air From Your Air Conditioner in Aberfoyle Park

What Usually Causes It, Cheapest First

Checks You Can Make First
Before you call anyone, run through these. They are safe and they take five minutes:
- Check the remote and wall control. Confirm the mode is cooling, the set temperature is below the current room temperature, and the fan is not just on fan-only.
- Check the filter. Pull it out and look at it. If you can not see light through it, that alone could be the problem.
- Look at the outdoor unit. Is the fan on top spinning? Is there anything blocking the coils, from leaves to a dog's shade spot?
- Listen at start-up. If the outdoor unit clicks but the fan does not spin, or it hums and cuts out, that is electrical, and that is our side of the fence.
Do not open the outdoor unit or touch the refrigerant side. That work needs licensed repairs under a full refrigeration and air conditioning licence, and it is illegal for anyone without one.

- you can hear clicking or humming at start-up.
Those point to a part or a refrigerant issue, and neither fixes itself.
One thing you can try first. If the filter was clogged and the system has been running warm for days, there is a fair chance the coil has iced over. Switch the system off for a few hours to thaw, replace or clean the filter, and try again. Still warm? That is when we come out.
