Questions answered
Your Air Conditioning Questions, Answered Plainly
Twelve questions, straight answers, no runaround. These are the things people around The Hub Shopping Centre ask us before they book, so you can make the call with the facts in hand. If yours is not here, call (08) 8246 6297 and a person will answer it, not a machine.
Questions
Pricing
How much does air conditioning installation cost in Aberfoyle Park?
It depends on the system and the home, and you get the price in writing before we start. With Fixed Upfront Pricing there are no hourly rates and no bill shock on a brick veneer install. Full details are on the installation page.
Is your pricing hourly or fixed?
Fixed. You get a fixed quote before any work starts, so the number we write down is the number you pay. That holds whether the job is a single split system or a full ducted setup.
Questions
Availability
Are you available after hours and on weekends?
Yes. We run 24/7 emergency availability, because a dead system on a 40-degree day cannot wait for Monday. Heatwaves do not keep business hours, and neither do we.
How fast can you respond to an urgent breakdown?
Urgent issues get a Within-the-Hour Response where availability allows. Call us and we will tell you straight when the next tech can be at your door.
Questions
Licensing and trust
Are you licensed to handle refrigerant?
Yes. The work is carried out under ARC Licence L162586, a RAC01 - Full Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Licence, which covers installation, service, decommissioning and refrigerant handling. You can read more about the business on the about page.
What discounts do you offer?
New customers get $50 off first service, and pensioners get the 10% pensioner discount. Both apply to our air conditioning work, which matters in a suburb of mostly owner-occupied family homes holding onto the same system for decades.
Is finance available for a bigger job?
Yes. Interest-free finance through Humm is available for larger jobs, so a full ducted install does not have to come out of savings in one hit.
Questions
Choosing a system
Which system suits a 1980s brick veneer home here?
Most of this suburb is single-storey detached brick veneer on larger blocks, which gives you real options. A split system suits one or two rooms, while ducted suits whole-home comfort, and we can talk through both on split system air conditioning or ducted air conditioning.
Is evaporative cooling a good option in this climate?
For cooling, it can be, and it is cheap to run in dry heat. It needs windows open while it runs, it uses water as well as power, and it struggles on the odd humid day. It does not heat, so read the honest trade-offs on our evaporative cooling page.
Can you heat the house as well as cool it?
Yes. Adelaide winters are genuinely cold, and reverse-cycle systems or ducted gas heating are real winter purchases here, not an afterthought.
Questions
Servicing and coverage
How often should a system be serviced?
Once a year is the short answer, before summer hits. Evaporative units need extra seasonal work on the pads and water feed, and our cleaning service covers both.
Do you cover the suburbs around Aberfoyle Park?
Yes. Woodcroft, Happy Valley, Flagstaff Hill, Reynella and Morphett Vale are all on our regular run, and each has its own page with details for that suburb.
