Air conditioning service
Air Conditioning Cleaning Aberfoyle Park
A clean air conditioner costs less to run, cools better and lasts longer. That is the whole pitch, and it happens to be true.
Who this page is for. If your system has been running on the same filters for a couple of Adelaide summers, this is for you. We clean split systems, ducted units and evaporative coolers across Aberfoyle Park and the southern suburbs.
You get the price in writing before we touch anything, under Fixed Upfront Pricing. Call (08) 8246 6297 and we will sort out a time.
When a Clean Is Overdue
Your system tells you when it needs attention. The signs are easy to read once you know them:
- Weaker airflow from the vents than you remember
- A dusty or stale smell when the unit first kicks in
- The system running longer to hit the same temperature
- Visible mould or grey grime on the indoor unit or louvres
- Water dripping from the indoor head, which can point to a blocked condensate drain (air conditioner leaking water is a common follow-on)
Most of the suburb's housing went up through the 1980s and 1990s on generous blocks with mature gardens. Forty years of established planting throws out plenty of dust, pollen and leaf litter, and filters here fill faster than owners expect.
If you are near Aberfoyle Park High School and the treed streets around it, you will know exactly the build-up we mean.
How it works
What the Cleaning Job Involves
A proper clean is more than rinsing a filter under the tap. Here is what we actually do:
- 1
Full inspection first
We check the system before cleaning it, because sometimes what looks like a dirty unit is a developing fault.
- 2
Filter wash or replacement
Filters are washed where the design allows, or swapped if they are past it.
- 3
Indoor coil clean
The coil on the indoor head gets a coil cleaner flush, which clears the grime that blocks heat transfer.
- 4
Drain flush
The condensate drain gets cleared so water runs out the way it should instead of finding its way to your ceiling.
- 5
Outdoor unit clear-out
The condenser gets hosed clear of dust and debris so it can breathe.
- 6
Test run
We run the system and check temperatures before we pack up.
For ducted systems, the job also covers the return-air grille and a check of the ductwork condition. Evaporative units get their own service: pads, water feed, bleed-off and a pre-summer flush, which refrigerated systems do not need.
Not sure which system you have? Our evaporative cooling and ducted air conditioning pages explain the differences.
Why Homes Here Get Dirty the Way They Do
The suburb itself.
The gardens.
Homes near the bushed corridors around the Aberfoyle Community Centre side of the suburb see it worst, with fine dust settling on outdoor units through the dry months.
The age of the systems.
A clean resets that. It is the cheapest performance upgrade available for an older system, and it can delay a replacement by years if the mechanicals are still sound.
What Drives the Cost of a Clean
Cleaning is quoted like everything else we do: fixed, upfront, no surprises. What moves the figure:
System type
Number of units
How long since the last clean
Access
Filter replacement
If the clean turns up something else, like a refrigerant issue or a failing fan motor, we stop and quote that separately before any extra work happens. You might then be looking at a repair rather than a clean, and you will know the figure before we proceed.

Questions
FAQs
How often should air conditioning be cleaned in Aberfoyle Park?
Most homes here are 1980s to 2000s builds with established gardens, so filters and coils collect dust faster than people expect. A clean once a year is the baseline, and twice a year if you run the system most days over summer.
Can a dirty filter actually stop the system from cooling?
Yes. A blocked filter chokes airflow across the coil, so the air that comes out is weaker and warmer than it should be. Cleaning the filter and coil often restores full cooling without any parts being replaced.
Do you clean evaporative units as well as split systems?
We do. Evaporative cooling needs its own seasonal work: pads checked, the water feed and bleed-off seen to, and the unit flushed before summer. It is a different service to a refrigerated clean and we quote it separately.
Is cleaning covered if the system is still under warranty?
Routine cleaning is a service you pay for, but if we find a fault during the clean, that is quoted separately under Fixed Upfront Pricing before any work starts. You approve the figure or we stop there.
Do pensioners get a discount on a cleaning job?
Yes, the 10% pensioner discount applies to cleaning. New customers also get $50 off first service. Both are applied to your fixed quote.
